On July 10-14, the International Hellenic University (Greece) hosted the Erasmus+ T-GREEN “Transforming Graduate Education for Green and Sustainable Future” project funded by the EU. The event was attended by Varduhi Gyulazyan, head of ANQA’s Institutional and Programme Accreditation Division and Anahit Terteryan, a specialist from the same division.
With the green education policy at its core, the project’s implementation will enable HEIs to shift from traditional academic programmes to future-oriented education. This transformation will form green skills and green lifestyles among students.
During the workshop, group discussions were held on the following topics:
- need to revise the list of professions in RA: problems and potential solutions;
- full implementation of the credit system: obstacles at national and institutional levels, viable solutions;
- designing the “Education for Sustainable Development” road map.
During the workshop, Varduhi Gyulazyan led one of the group discussions to identify the participants’ viewpoints on the abovementioned topics and suggestions on possible reforms.
It should be noted that the project is mainly aimed at the capacity building of national and institutional administrators, decision and policymakers, educators, researchers, and students to integrate the Sustainable Development Goals targeting environmental issues into policies and educational content. That will be implemented through the development of joint academic programmes or reforms of existing ones, incorporating components that form green skills among students.
The project’s Armenian participants are the RA MoESCS, National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia (coordinator), Eurasia International University (co-coordinator), Yerevan State University, Armenian State University of Economics, French University in Armenia, National Polytechnic University of Armenia, Armenian National Agrarian University, Goris State University, Gavar State University, Erasmus Students’ Network Yerevan and Bridge of Hope non-governmental organizations.
EU partners are the International Hellenic University (Greece), Mykolas Romeris University (Lithuania), Catholic University of Portugal (Portugal) and Jagiellonian University of Krakow (Poland).
